OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE:

1- Initiate concrete actions that would assist african countries to draft, adopt and apply legislation for the effective implementation of various plans and programs of action in favour of women.

2- Reduce the effects of poverty by guaranteeing the economic empowerment of women by facilitating their access to credit, land, water, electricity, etc.

3- Establish steady dialogue with the poor in order for them to express their needs and to draft strategies that will help to rescue them from their present precarious state.

4- The OAU and the future african union shall have to urge african countries to take and apply concrete measures towards the eradication of poverty.

5- Africa has to attain definitive peace through the resolution of armed conflicts. The establishment of dialogue must underscore our daily actions.
